TMD: A Multi-Professional Approach

The main speakers for the weekend are Dr Gert Petrus Visser, Founder and Clinical Director of O-Lab and Eva Tanner, Orofacial Myologist and Dental Therapist.

Here is a little more information about our star speakers.

Dr Gert Petrus Visser

After qualifying as a dentist in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1992, Dr Visser (or G.P. as he’s known) moved to the UK and began practising in Dorset. Through his work with leading clinicians in Oxford, Dr Visser, a dental health visionary, has gained unique insights into what can be achieved by treating craniofacial pain and temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD).

His major clinical and research interests include:

  • Diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders
  • Orofacial pain and head and neck pain from a full body perspective
  • Interaction of the dental occlusion in musculoskeletal dysfunction

He also serves as a consultant on sleep disorders related to bruxism and sleep apnoea.

Eva Tanner

Eva qualified as a dental hygienist and dental therapist from the St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1997 and gained awards for the best clinical dental therapist and highest dental hygiene examination results.

Since qualifying, Miss Tanner has worked in a private practice and cares for her clients by taking an approach that combines Prevention, Education and Minimal intervention (PEMi), and she has also been involved in Biodynamic Occlusion principles.

The founder of MyoDynamics, Eva has studied the form and function of hundreds of thousands of faces while working closely with orthodontists, oral surgeons, cranial chiropractors, Bowen Integrated Therapy practitioners, respiratory specialists, nutritionists, cell biologists, immunologists and neurologists.

There will be other speakers announced over the next few weeks, but this alone is a very exciting line up and not to be missed.  Prices will be the same as the January to March seminars and we will also release some limited reduced price spaces for students, so ensure you book early as spaces are limited.
